Promotion overview

The ALT21 Financial Promotion (the “Promotion”) allows selected ALT21 customers classified as Individuals or Businesses (“you” or the “Referrer”), based in the United Kingdom or Ireland (the “Eligible Market”), to earn a referral reward (the “Reward”).

Here’s how it works: refer a Business (the “Referred Business”) to sign up for an ALT21 Business account (note: not an Individual account) using your unique referral URL link. The Referred Business must complete the onboarding steps and compliance checks (e.g. KYC, AML), and successfully execute one or more FX Conversions (FX Spot transactions in any currency pair) with a minimum equivalent of EUR 50,000[1].

If the Referred Business completes one or more FX hedging transactions (FX Forward transactions in any currency pair) for an equivalent of EUR 50,000[2] for a minimum tenor of 3 months each, we will double your Reward and also offer a Hedging Bonus to the Referred Business (the “Hedging Bonus”).

You will receive the Reward only if you, the individual opening the ALT21 Business Account (the “Referee”), and the Referred Business meet the criteria outlined in these terms and conditions (the “Promotion Terms”). Read on to understand how the Promotion works.

The Promotion is active from 03 July 2024 to 30 September 2024 (the “Promotion Period”). Ensure to invite Businesses promptly to allow both you and the Referees enough time to complete all required steps before the Promotion Period ends.

Both you and the Referee must meet all the criteria specified below during the Promotion Period. If either party fails to meet, or only partially meets, the criteria within the Promotion Period, the Reward will not be issued.

Eligibility for the Promotion

To be eligible for the Promotion, you must be an ALT21 Individual or Business user incorporated in an Eligible Market, with an active and fully approved  (not pending, suspended, restricted, or closed) ALT21 account, and must have received an invitation to the Promotion directly from us via email. If you have not received an email directly from ALT21, you are not eligible.

A Referee qualifies for the Promotion provided they do not hold, nor are linked to, any existing or previous ALT21 Business account. The Referee must be new to ALT21, incorporated in the Eligible Market, and must not have any previous Business user profile with ALT21, even if the ALT21 Business account is no longer active.

Any Business referred under this Promotion must sign up for an ALT21 Business account for the first time and be eligible for an ALT21 Business account according to our terms and conditions. For further details, please refer to our Terms and Conditions here.

Important: in order to qualify for the Awards or Hedging Bonuses, the transactions can only be in non-regulated products, i.e. FX Spot and FX Forwards. Transactions performed by the Referred Business in financial instruments such as FX Options will nullify the referral fee if executed during the Promotion Period.

How to Earn the Reward

To earn a Reward, you must receive an email invitation from us, invite a Business to open an ALT21 Business account via a Referee, and ensure that both the Business and Referee complete the following steps.

Inviting a Business to open an ALT21 Business account is simple. Open the email you received about this Promotion (remember, you must have received an email to be eligible), locate your unique referral URL, copy and paste it and send it directly to eligible Referees in your network.

The link is crucial—the Referee must click on your unique referral link for you to qualify for the Promotion.

During the Promotion Period, you can earn a Reward for a maximum of ten (10) Businesses referred. You will not receive a Reward for more than ten successful referrals.

Requirements for Earning the Reward

To qualify for the Reward, the Referee and the Business must complete the following steps (“Onboarding Steps”), before the Promotion Period ends:

• the Referee must open an ALT21 Business account for the Business using your unique referral URL link;
• the sign-up process includes completing the registration and passing our onboarding and compliance checks (e.g., KYC, AML). If either the Referee or the Business fails these checks, you will not qualify for the Promotion.
• the Business must make at least one FX Spot transaction, or more, with a combined value of at least EUR 50,000[1].

To qualify for a doubling of your Reward and for the Business to receive the Hedging Bonus, the Referee and Business must complete the following additional steps (“Hedging Steps”), before the end of the Promotion Period, in addition to the steps mentioned above:

• the Business must complete one or more FX Forward transactions with a combined value of at least EUR 50,000[2], each having a minimum tenor of 3 months. This means the settlement date of the FX Forward—the actual date when the currency exchange occurs—must be at least 3 months in the future.
• if the Business opts for a Flexible FX Forward (allowing early settlement before the initially chosen settlement date), the actual settlement date is used to calculate the transaction’s tenor, not the initially selected settlement date. Therefore, if a Business books a Flexible FX Forward with a settlement date 3 months in the future but settles it after one month, the transaction will not be eligible for the Reward or Hedging Bonus.

The Reward and the Hedging Bonus will not be paid, or may be reversed if already issued, if the Business reverses any of these steps. For instance, if they immediately close their ALT21 Business account during the Promotion Period, or cancel their FX Spot or FX Forward transaction.

Important: in order to qualify for the Awards or Hedging Bonuses, the transactions can only be in non-regulated products, i.e. FX Spot and FX Forwards. Transactions performed by the Referred Business in financial instruments such as FX Options will nullify the referral Award and Hedging Bonus, if executed during the Promotion Period.

What is the Reward and How is it Given?

For every Business you successfully refer that completes the Onboarding Steps during the Promotion Period, you are eligible for a fixed Reward of EUR100. If the Business also completes the Hedging Steps within the Promotion Period, your Reward doubles to EUR200.

The Business that completes both the Onboarding Steps and Hedging Steps during the Promotion Period will receive a Hedging Bonus of EUR 100 in their ALT21 Business account wallet. Important: If the Referred Business completes an FX Option during the Promotion Period, we will disqualify it from any Award or Hedging Bonus calculation, even if the Referred Businesses completely separate FX Spots and FX Forwards transactions as described above. Once the Referee and Business fulfill the required steps and you become eligible for the Reward, you will be notified via email. Your Reward will be credited to your ALT21 Individual account within 20 working days after the end of the Promotion Period. Remember: you need to have finalized your onboarding to ALT21 and have a fully approved account to be able to receive the award.

Individuals and Businesses that receive financial incentives through this Promotion are responsible for the legal tax treatment of these incentives. Individuals must declare these financial incentives as taxable income on their self-assessment tax return. Businesses should treat these incentives as taxable income and should be included in their corporation tax returns.

Exchange rates used during the Promotion

If the FX Spot or FX Forward transactions performed by the Referee on behalf of the Business do not involve the EURO in the currency pairs, the following fixed conversion rates will be used:

We reserve the right to suspend, terminate, or modify this Promotion or its Terms at any time. If the Promotion is suspended or terminated, the Terms will be removed from our website. Any changes to the Terms will be made available on our website. Any modification to these Terms, including suspension or termination of the Promotion, will not affect your rights if you have already participated (unless required by applicable law).

This Promotion is designed to benefit both the Referrer and the Referred Business with financial incentives (“Reward” and “Hedging Bonus,” respectively).

• The Reward will be credited to the Referrer’s ALT21 account balance.
• The Hedging Bonus will be credited to the Business’s ALT21 Business account balance.

To be eligible for a Reward, you must comply with these Terms and any other applicable terms and conditions of your ALT21 account. If we detect any fraudulent activity or material abuse of this Promotion, we may take appropriate actions at our sole discretion. For example, orchestrating a campaign to exploit this Promotion without genuine and unique new sign-ups to ALT21 Business constitutes material abuse, and we may close your account and reverse any Rewards in such cases.

Events beyond the control of ALT21 may occur, making it impossible to award the Promotion. Consequently, ALT21 will not be liable for any loss, direct or indirect, resulting from such events.

These Terms constitute an agreement between you and the ALT21 entity providing your primary ALT21 Individual account. For any questions or complaints regarding this Promotion, please contact us via our website.

These Promotion Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms will be exclusively resolved by the competent court in England.
